How quality evidence supports a licensing discussion

Quality documentation can reduce uncertainty about what is being offered. It does not establish a market price or guarantee buyer interest.

Replace adjectives with evidence

Instead of “high quality,” show the reviewed scope, valid links, missingness and outcome checks. Explain how each finding relates to the intended task. Separate measured results from judgments and untested assumptions.

Prioritize useful fixes

Fixing a broken project reference may recover an entire workflow. Polishing a cosmetic field may do little. Rank improvements by the tasks they enable, the cost of the change and whether the necessary rights are available.

Discuss price after scope

Preparation effort, exclusivity and ongoing delivery all affect economics. Compare proposals on the same permitted uses and dataset boundaries. A buyer may decline an excellent dataset because it does not fit current needs; quality and demand are different questions.
